The group decided to have a casual beach party after the exams, since it's summer and all. I usually don't go there since I was never that good of a swimmer anyway.
Still, seeing so many scantily dressed people - it makes me nervous.
Of my swimwear, I have only my plain black swimming trunks. Never a fan of fancy myself - but being out next to others makes me feel like a fool. Urgh.
"Hey there, pretty boy~"
Before me stood Yukino in a rather extravagant swimwear: dark blue, glittery, frilly two piece swimsuit; and a semi-transparent white coat to go along with it. She has a large floppy sun hat and sunglasses perched on her face. Her look is definitely showsteal worthy.
Compared to others, she is the definition of ideal come forth.
"Uhm..."
"Come on, don't be shy. Let's have some fun now that we're adults here~"
"Urgh."
She grabbed me by my forearm and led to me to the sea. Despite everything, her radiant smile told me that everything will be alright.
"BRRRRRRRRRRR!!! SO COLD!!!"
"Calm down, man. You'll get used to it in no time! You can hold on to me if you want."
I wonder if the passerby mistake us for a couple. A cheerful girl and a broody man, certainly that would mean love? Well, not really. For me she's just a person of an enjoyable company. By now I've gotten used to her tall tales of fantasy, hearing her speak so passionately about fiction... Made my heart lighter.
With her, I felt like I could forget about my worries once and for all.
Perhaps I lacked whimsy after all.
"Come on, why won't you sink?!"
"Can't........ Swim.........."
"Oh really? Now let me teach you like my granny used to!"
She laid my body on water and began to guide me. In her arms I felt light as her gentle voice gave me directions. My limbs began moving on their own and then...
"Ahhh!!!"
"Come on, man. Don't overthink swimming."
I still have a long way to go...
