冬奇妙夢玄 (Winter Bizarre Dream Mystery) ~ Shoulder and a Heel
Chapter 4

...

I'm home.

No one's there.

...

...

...

"Haha! Get away, you squeeb. You should just die already!"

...

...

...

"Denji... Your choked noises... They're pretty funny, haha... Look, you're becoming blue. You're struggling..."

...

...

...

"Denji, know this. You should be ready to die for your ideals. Human is mortal, but ideas are immortal."

...

...

...

"*Knock-knock-knock*"

"Shh! Denjirou! Don't make a sound. We'll be packing tomorrow."

...

The hilt feels heavy...

...

...

...

I'm scared... I don't wanna feel pain anymore.

That one time I got cut by it, it lasted for days.

...

...

...

I'm scared... It's going to hurt...

For the first time, ever since I saw it - I'm drowning in the sea. Before, I simply floated atop of it, never touching my feet on the surface of the water - but now I sink. Several creatures begin to appear, mocking me as the kelp began to drag me down. I still feel pain, enormous pain - but also weakness overwhelming me.

It seems I've been drowning for a long time. I can't see the abyss. And yet suddenly...

莨晄凾譛!!!

I woke up in the hospital. There were several doctors watching me, doing things to me. Doing things that just don't register. I feel numb and it felt like haze surrounding me.

After a while, I saw her. My grandma. She broke down crying, covering her face.

It's not the first time she cried. She cried a lot because of my parents and yet - seeing her like this made me feel absolutely awful about myself.

"Denjirou... You idiot... You know that I can't lose you?!...

Not after her... Not after her...

I can't..."

That's when I made an oath to never try this ever again.

My parents made a disgraceful act, but the most selfish thing I could do is letting my grandma take it all in by herself.

Such act - is not worth it.

It was after that when the noise finally stopped for the time being.

At night, the stars were red.
