夏奇妙夢玄 (Summer Bizarre Dream Mystery) ~ Dream Journey
Chapter 8

Still stuck in my room. Still in that rotten gilded cage.

At first I didn't even notice the rust covering the bars - but when I finally met Denjirou, the sight of it became unbearable.

Despite his brutish and awkward nature, he carried the air of freedom that I was fascinated by, and learned to envy it.

He doesn't seem to particularly care what people thought of him, he didn't care for unnecessary expectations, he simply existed in this world, in this moment.

While I'm stuck in the past forced to look at the future's uncertainty. He was right about my fascination with fairytales being childish, they always were - but that's the only remnant I can hold on to. The only remnant before everything seemed to have fallen apart.

"If you insist - we'll allow you to keep these books if they're that sentimental to you. But know that if your grades begin to suffer - we're going to give them to the charity; it's only natural that you grow up and move on."

I wish for everything to be frozen in time. So I could be with him. He may call me childish, he may call this wish foolish and stupid, but... I just want to see that freedom yet again.

And I suppose, teasing him as well - he is pretty funny when annoyed slightly.

Ahh... Is it love? Or am I just acting silly? I doubt he'll even accept someone as careless as me. He would think that he would be signing himself to a babysitting job.

Clutching my stuffed bean cat plushie in my arms (which I had to fight for to even keep and not return it back to the shop I bought it from), I fall asleep, thinking about him.
